About Us – The Americas Peace Prize (APP)
The Americas Peace Prize (APP) is a people-powered award honoring real peacebuilders—those whose actions restore justice, bridge divides, and bring lasting peace across communities and nations. This is not peace granted from above; it’s peace chosen by the people.
APP membership is open to everyone. Members can nominate candidates, engage in discussion, and vote for the winner—because peace is everyone’s responsibility.
A rotating Governing Committee, made up of respected leaders and advocates from across the Americas, oversees the process and ensures fairness, transparency, and integrity. While they help guide the nomination process, the final decision belongs to the public.
Each year, the award ceremony is hosted in a different country in the Americas. Weekly updates keep the platform alive with new stories, nominations, and voices.
APP is more than a prize—it’s a movement to recognize those who build peace where it matters most.
